The Danish Parents Association of Children wiht Arthritis was formed in 1976 with the aim og making life easier for parents of children with rheumatoid arthritis by
- Building awareness of types of treatment and social assistance possibilities
- sharing experiences among parents to mutual benefit.
The members of the association are primarily parents of children with rheumatoid arthritis. Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis is rather rare and the activity of the disease often varies quite a lot. Consequently, it is impossible to predict the progression of each child's arthritis. The unpredictability is really a drain on the resources of a family. When the disease has its god spells, you quickly get used to living like any other family. When the disease is deteriorating for a while, you may find it difficult to cope and be optimistic and happy. PACA is a network dealing with problems to which other persons cannot really relate with the same understanding - not through professional knowledge and insight, but by means of joint experience. The resources of PACA are its members and consist of that which we parents of children with rheumatoid arthritis are able to give each other. The experiences and the knowledge that we as parents can give one another can help us move on and what we learn is at least as beneficial to the children on whom our greatest worries concentrate, as to ourselves.
Everybody interested can join our association.
According to our statutes the object of our association is to provide information on various types of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Our association seeks to fulfil this object by informing of:
- The forms and nature of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
- Types of treatment.
- Treatment experience.
- Scientific research and results.
- Public offers easing practical and financial burdens of families with children with chronic diseases. byrder, der hviler på familier med sygdomsramte børn.
PACA is an independent association - and cooperate with the Danish Rheumatism Association.. | |

en sammenslutning af forældre til børn med gigt.
Vores formål er at sikre de bedste vilkår for vores gigtbørn, ved at arbejde for at forbedre behandlings og bistandstilbud, samt informere om og synliggøre børnegigt for vores omverden.
Endeligt støtter vi hinanden, drager nytte af andres erfaringer og lader vore egne erfaringer komme andre til gode.
